Register the server
Claude speaks MCP natively, so you add the Credicorp public server as a tool source pointing at /public/v1/mcp. No credential is needed for the public server. On connect, the client runs initialize and tools/list and the six tools become available to the model.
Ground the answers
Instruct the model to answer questions about Credicorp products, cost and eligibility only from tool results — get_quote, product_details, eligibility_criteria. Because the tools return the hub's authoritative figures, a tool-grounded answer is accurate where a from-memory answer would not be.
Hand off
End the flow by directing the qualified user to apply. For authenticated partner capabilities, move to the partner MCP server and its OAuth flow. Full pattern: building an application assistant.
Frequently asked questions
Does Claude need a token for the public MCP server?
No. The public MCP server is unauthenticated, so a Claude agent can call it with no credential. A token is only needed for the partner MCP server.
How do I stop the model inventing Credicorp figures?
Instruct it to answer only from MCP tool results. The tools return the hub's authoritative figures, so a grounded answer is accurate; from-memory answers about live pricing are not.
